ABS-CBN’s noontime show Wowowee (hosted by Willie Revillame) is thought to be one of the must-visit attractions among OFWs and balik-bayans.
Wowowee is shown on The Filipino Channel (TFC) worldwide. Filipinos from all over the world who come back to visit their relatives in the Philippines are glued in on the TV show and are excited to attend and join in the program. This is evident on the number of expat attendees of their show whichs airs just after lunch time on ABS-CBN.
Dubbed as TFC subscribers these balikbayans help studio contestants by donating a couple bucks just to be able to greet on-air. It’s been rumored that these dole-outs could reach up to half a million pesos every show and are primarily used to give away rewards and prizes to other studio contestants.
Now that’s something interesting.
